The English Reading Circle
The English Reading Circle was established at the beginning of the winter semester 2000/2001. Newcomers are always welcome, no matter whether you are a first year student, exam candidate, or simply interested in exploring literature!
In the English Reading Circle, we discuss texts and films suggested by the student participants. Basically, we use the whole range of English literature, so we talk about classics as well as brand new publications; there may be poetry, prose, novel and drama and more recently film in focus, and there may be fiction as well as non-fiction. Our aims are to experience great literature for fun, to develop our interest in literary phenomena, and to learn how to discuss filmic and literary texts in general.
